CeGA Online Acute is designed to support comprehensive assessment of frail older patients in hospital.  It supports assessment in acute geriatric units and whole-of-episode assessment or geriatric consultation in general wards. 

The initial assessment profiles the patient’s pre-admission and current status. Review and discharge assessments promote monitoring of the patient’s progress throughout the hospital stay.

The assessment system enables geriatricians to review and report assessments with the production of professional, information-rich patient profiles.

The profiles include:
•    Risk profiles for common geriatric events
•    Scales and screening tools for measuring severity and supporting diagnosis of geriatric syndromes
•    Problems identified for priority attention by clinicians

Additional features include:
•    A special ACAP module enabling production of an electronic ACAT Minimum Data Set
•    Progress notes supporting ward rounds and case conferences
•    Messaging facilities enabling external referrals to key stakeholders, opening access to the entire 
     assessment online (security features restrict access to records to registered users who have 
     received a referral from within the hospital)
